Do your birds have the blush of robust health that you see in birds in the wild?

Is there a glowing sheen to their feathers that comes from a perfect state of well-being. . . physically as well as emotionally, or are they dull, or maybe even ragged from plucking or over-preening?

Are their songs voiced strong and proud. . .are they melodies of joy and contentment?
I’m sorry to say that most bird owners would answer with a disheartened, "no, not really."

Don’t we wish that we could answer with a strong "yes!" and live with birds that are in optimum condition?

I’ve come across a wonderful company that sells a series of holistic herbal products for birds that I’m having wonderful results with. It’s the Avian Medicine Chest. You may have seen them advertised in Bird Talk magazine.

All of the Avian Medicine Chest’s products come straight from Mother Nature. . .they are herbal combinations that help to restore health and boost the immune system to guard against future illnesses. The great thing about these products is that they work with your bird’s natural healing processes and do not have the debilitating side effects that many drugs do.

A very important item! It’s very important to take a bird who is showing ANY signs of illness to an avian veterinarian immediately!

Birds are the masters of hiding signs of disease, for in the wild, a sick bird is either quickly someone’s lunch, or driven out of the flock. So, they hide their symptoms as best they can, usually until they are quite ill.

The signs that a bird can show are: looking "ruffled" or "droopy," not singing or talking as they usually do, holding their head at a strange angle, standing awkwardly on one foot, limping or not using a foot, among many others.

We, as their protectors and custodians must watch our birds VERY carefully for any signs
of abnormality. Acting quickly and getting them immediately to an avian veterinarian when something is wrong is paramount to maintaining their health and keeping illness
at bay.

Once life leaves our precious bird, it is gone for always, forever. Life cannot be somehow
injected back into, or forced back into our bird. Our bird will be away from us forever, never to return. Remember this as you observe your birds every day. You cannot be too careful with the health and safety of your birds! If anything looks amiss, get them to an avian vet just as quickly as you can! It’s also a good idea to take your birds to an avian vet for periodic (yearly or every two years) check-up to make certain that everything is OK!

Click on the banner below to get to the Avian Medicine Chest. (You’ll also find areas and products on their site for dogs, cats, even rabbits!)
